Meet The Team
Founder & CEO
Amaar is a Junior at Great Neck South High School and the founder of Learning for a Cause. He feels each and every student should receive an equal opportunity in their educational pursuit regardless of their socioeconomic standing. He is passionate about STEM, Medicine, and Business, as a result, he is an active member of his school’s HOSA and DECA chapter. In his free time, he gives back to his community by volunteering at his local ambulance corps.
Director of Finance and Fundraising
Samuel Lurvey is currently a junior at Great Neck South High School taking advanced and honors-level classes. He is interested in STEM, and takes part in numerous science-based events, such as Science Olympiad and research competitions, along with doing some coding on the side. He feels driven to help other students achieve their best. He is a competitive fencer and an experienced tutor. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his cats, talk with friends, or do anything social.
Director of Education
Neal Sodhi is currently a junior at Great Neck South High School. His interests are focused around STEM, especially in programming and mathematics. In high school, Neal is taking numerous advanced placement and honors-level classes. He is a prestigious member of the Robotics and Science Olympiad teams. Outside of school, Neal works with children through volunteering at the Cohen Children's Medical Center.

Jansen Wong is a rising junior at Great Neck South High School. He is passionate about all things STEM-related, especially computer science and chemistry. His passion drives him to educate others about STEM subjects so that others may have the opportunity to enjoy them as well. In his free time, Jansen participates in various competitions and enjoys swimming and playing the piano.

Matthew is currently a junior at Great Neck South High School with a passion for STEM and business. Specifically, he enjoys biology, as it is the study of life, and life is amazing. He loves ping pong, and in his free time enjoys practicing nature photography, and uses this to boost his skills in his favorite Science Olympiad event, ornithology.
Director of Web Development and Technology
Charlie Yin is currently a Junior at Great Neck South High School. His interests are focused around STEM and Education, mainly in mathematics and programming. He is a competitor in the Silver Division of the United States of America Computing Olympiad and has scored highly on the AMC 10, qualifying for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination. Outside of GNSHS, he participates in his Science Olympiad team, helping bring his team to the state competition. In addition, he participates in Robotics, and helps with both building and designing the robot.
Director of Outreach
Daniel Pun is currently a junior at Great Neck South High School. His interests are focused around STEM, mainly with physics and math. He is currently a member of the physics club and placed 36th place in the online physics brawl internationally with his team. He likes to swim competitively, helping his school's swimming team to reach an 8-1 record. For extracurriculars, he volunteered at his local government to make a simplified and efficient survey. In his free time, he likes to refine his cooking skills and play the piano.

Collin is currently a junior at Great Neck South High School with interests rooted in STEM. He is an active member of the school In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, riding his electric skateboard, and snowboarding. He is also, avid at beating his rival enemy Matthew, at ping pong.
